Ambient Scenting
Hotel Lobby Scenting - Beverly Wilshire Hotel
The Challenge
The renowned Beverly Wilshire Hotel was using scented candles to deliver a jasmine fragrance in its Wilshire Lobby. The use of candles was not only potentially dangerous for staff and guests, they were expensive, very high maintenance and could not provide uniformity throughout the lobby space.
The Solution
The jasmine aroma of the candles was replicated and diffused through an HVAC appliance to provide a lower cost, safer alternative with uniform intensity throughout.

Retail Scenting - Carrefour
The Challenge
Major European grocery and general merchandise chain, Carrefour, were seeking a way to improve the experience of its customers waiting in checkout lines.
The Solution
An ambient scenting program was developed using a fragrance called "Nature After Rain". This scent was diffused over the checkout area in a test store. An understanding of aromatherapy and performance was central to the selection of this particular fragrance which is known to shorten a person's perception of time spent in a space.
Positive responses to the test program led the retailer to expand the service to additional outlets and to add a "wine cellar" fragrance to enhance customer experiences in their wine departments.

Retail Boutique Scenting - Diane von Furstenberg
The Challenge
Diane von Furstenberg boutiques were looking to enhance the ambience of their New York City flagship. They decided to incorporate the launch of their new fine fragrance, 'D', into an ambient scenting program.
The Solution
'D' was formulated for airborne diffusion through two HVAC units located in the store and direct delivery units under the outside canopy. The boutique effectively extended their lease line with the installation of the units under the canopy to entice customers walking past the store to enter. The concept was rolled out to other boutiques across the United States and Europe.

Retail Product Promotion - Nordstrom
The Challenge
Nordstrom wished to offer improved effectiveness to fragrance brands for in-store launches and product promotions. Traditional in-store promotion was a table top display of the product and some promotional visuals. The display space was "rented" to the brand who would also hire promotional models of the same demographic as the perfume's targeted customer to stand next to the display and offer passersby an opportunity to smell or sample the scent.
The Solution
A product advertising service was designed to gently diffuse the actual scent being promoted in the air space around the display or in the air space throughout the fine fragrance sales area. This service enables the retailer to rent the floor space to the brand for the product display and the air space around the display which subtly presents the product not just to passersby who agree to try a sample, but to everyone in the vicinity.
